The best choice depends on your needs. Birch firewood and black alder are among the most popular options due to their high heat output and slow burning.
Dry firewood has low moisture content (usually less than 20%), which ensures better combustion and more heat. Freshly cut firewood is more moist, has lower heat output, and requires additional time for drying.
Firewood should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place. It is best to stack it in a woodpile with a gap between the ground and the bottom layer of firewood to avoid contact with the soil.
The length of the logs should match the size of your stove or fireplace. Typically, the standard length of firewood is between 30 and 40 cm, but it can be adjusted upon request.
High-quality firewood should be dry, without signs of mold or rot. If two logs produce a ringing sound when struck together, it is a sign of well-dried firewood.
The price of firewood depends on the type of wood, the degree of drying, the volume of the order, and the delivery conditions. Birch firewood and dry logs are usually more expensive due to their higher heat output.
